Formal Training • Informal Training • Systems Used • Formal Training • Informal Training • Systems Used •
During my placement, I completed comprehensive formal training focused on workplace compliance and the financial systems used at Carpentaria. This training included an in-depth introduction to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) financial framework, as well as the organisation’s internal control procedures designed to maintain data integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical service delivery. The training helped me develop a stronger understanding of professional standards and financial operations within the disability services sector.
Complementing the formal training, I also engaged in extensive informal learning through direct supervisor guidance and practical hands-on experience. By observing experienced finance team members and participating in regular feedback sessions, I developed a deeper understanding of real-world accounting processes, including invoice verification, expense classification, financial documentation, and professional workplace communication. This experience enhanced both my technical accounting knowledge and my confidence in applying these skills within a professional finance environment.
